Phishing accounted for 49% of all fraud attacks observed by RSA in Q4

RSA Security has released its Q4 2018 Fraud Report, providing an insight into the latest cyber security trends associated with fraud attacks and customer fraud data.

Key findings include:

  • Phishing accounted for 49% of all fraud attacks observed by RSA in Q4.
  • Total phishing volume increased 12% and social media and brand abuse attacks increased 43% last year
  • Card-not-present (CNP) fraud transactions increased 12% last quarter, and 80% of those originated from a new device.
