Avertro has grown to ten staff members, won four new commercial contracts, appointed Jamie Norton to its Industry Advisory Board, and appointed Nigel Hedges to its Customer Advisory Board.

Following a $750,000 investment round earlier this year, Avertro has scaled its team to meet significant market demand and has appointed highly experienced talent to its Advisory Boards to prepare for further growth.

Avertro’s success has been attributed by customers to its intuitive, easy to use, and visually appealing cyber reporting for executives and boards. The platform has been praised by security and enterprise leaders for its comprehensive approach to applying business modelling on top of cybersecurity strategy and operations, improving the cost-effectiveness of Third Party Cyber Risk Management processes, and removing the need for custom spreadsheets.

Ian Yip, CEO and Co-Founder of Avertro, said, “Despite the disruptions of 2020, it’s been an exciting year for Avertro as we’ve scaled the team, helped enterprises streamline their cyber risk and governance activities, and enabled security teams to have executive-level conversations about their cybersecurity strategies and approaches. The pandemic has accelerated digital transformation across every industry, which has had a direct impact on the growth of cybersecurity threats to businesses. We remain focused on working with our customers and partners to help navigate this new threat landscape.”

Avertro has recently closed four new commercial contracts with a leading Australian insurer, a leading specialist fibre and network solutions provider, a specialist advisory and restructuring firm, and a global health solutions provider.

Jamie Norton, currently Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of a major Australian federal government agency and previously Head of Cyber Security for NEC Australia, brings over 20 years of experience across the security industry. In his role as Executive Advisory Board Member at Avertro, Norton will apply his expertise working with government agencies, corporate enterprises, and solution providers to help shape company and solution strategy, and provide ongoing independent guidance to ensure Avertro remains focused on helping the cybersecurity industry elevate its game.

Nigel Hedges, currently Head of Information Security at CPA Australia, has two decades of cybersecurity experience working for solution providers and large organisations in the public and private sectors. He has led and built cyber programs to align with digital transformation initiatives and holds several cybersecurity industry certifications and an MBA from La Trobe University.

Yip said, “Jamie and Nigel bring exceptional expertise and leadership experience that will be invaluable to our business and clients. As businesses are catching up on navigating the new cyber landscape during COVID-19 and remote working, I look forward to working with our advisers to help business leaders understand the bigger picture, adapt their cybersecurity approaches, right-size their spend, seize ownership and accountability, and optimise their use of assistance to ensure they are doing cyber right.”
