FirstWave Launches Major Open-AudIT Update

FirstWave Cloud Technology has released the most significant update to its leading IT Audit platform, Open-AudIT, in over three years.

A powerful reporting framework enables information such as software licensing, configuration changes, non-authorised devices, capacity utilisation and hardware warranty status to be extracted and explored.

Open-AudIT Enterprise includes business dashboards, scheduled discovery and reporting, configuration baselines, fully customisable discovery scanning options and rules and more.

FirstWave CEO Danny Maher said the release of Open-AudIT Version 5 would give users greater peace of mind in an environment of increasing cyber threats.

“You can’t secure a network without knowing what’s on it and how it is configured – hardware, firmware and software,” Mr Maher said. “OpenAudIT discovers everything on your network and allows organisations to ensure compliance. Importantly, this upgrade to the core framework will allow us to add new features much faster and further cement Open-AudIT’s position as the number one tool in the market.”

Mr Maher said Enterprise users would continue to access a range of premium features unavailable in the open-source version of Open-AudIT.

“Our enterprise customers get access to the full power of OpenAudIT, including integration with our NMIS platform,” he said.

Earlier this year, Open-AudIT was declared the best agentless discovery tool in the world for IT asset management by the pro-consumer website Comparitech.

Comparitech chose FirstWave’s Open-AudIT platform above all others and, additionally, found through its automated discovery that it was “the most useful IT asset management tool you can have”.

Comparitech highlighted Open-AudIT’s configuration management and network mapper as crucial features in selecting it as the best platform. Open-AudIT can collect significant amounts of data from large and varying networks, with the data being catalogued and easily absorbed into meaningful reports.
