Secure Code Warrior has announced a Series B funding round of AUD$70 million, representing the largest ever US investment of its kind for an Australian cybersecurity business.

Headquartered in Sydney, the funding is led by Goldman Sachs with additional investors including ForgePoint Capital and Cisco Investments, with new commitments from existing investors AirTree Ventures and Paladin Capital Group.

The funding is to be used to support ongoing product innovation, and the establishment of new operations globally, including APAC expansion starting in Singapore.

In Australia, Secure Code Warrior’s team has grown by more than 150% in the past 12 months, adding a second Sydney office space, with a view to grow by a further 70% in the coming year. There are nearly 70 open positions globally. Of these team members, nearly 30 are part of the onshore R&D team, with the company reinvesting 35% into R&D initiatives.

Australian customers include Telstra, Woolworths, Xero, and ING Bank. Other customers range from tier-1 enterprises through to mid-tier corporates, and 8 of Australia’s 10 largest banks.

“We are immensely proud of growing a profitable, sustainable, and diverse global business from Australia,” says CEO Pieter Danhieux. “We are committed to ongoing investment in customer success with our talented team in Australia and beyond. I’m also proud that we have almost reached parity between female and male roles, and this new investment round allows us to accelerate a business model that functions globally from our base in Sydney.”

Founded in 2015 by global cybersecurity experts Pieter Danhieux and Dr. Matias Madou, Secure Code Warrior is an online secure coding platform that helps Developers to think and act with a security mindset every day.
