South Australian cybersecurity company OpSys Australia has appointed Shanna Daly as its inaugural Chief Information Security Officer.
Based in Sydney, Daly will lead and manage the company’s cyber operations team and services, supporting the delivery of the highest level of security, according to industry frameworks, across all systems and data for both OpSys and its customers.
In addition, Daly will develop additional cybersecurity service capabilities across managed services and consulting teams. Her role will involve collaborating with the business to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, manage internal security and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
“Shanna Daly is an industry visionary who has been working closely with customers in understanding their needs and transforming their cybersecurity posture for many years,” said OpSys Australia Managing Director Matthew Fabri. “We are very pleased to have her join the team as she will bring tremendous value to our customers and support our ongoing regional growth.”
Daly joins OpSys Australia with more than 20 years of IT industry experience. During this time she has held senior consulting, systems engineering, forensics, incident response and client service roles, including most recently as principal consultant at Cosive.
Before that, Daly was Director of Digital Forensics and Incident Response at ParaFlare where she built the company’s consulting team and supported customers with detailed investigations into data breaches, ransomware and insider threats.
Daly also worked for Mandiant in several roles over a five-year period including as ANZ Consulting Manager, Systems Engineer and Senior Consultant for Incident Response. Earlier in her career, Daly worked in consulting and analyst roles for RSA and Verizon Enterprise Solutions and as a Technical Support Representative with Fujitsu.
“I’ve known the senior management team at OpSys Australia for many years, and I’m excited to work alongside them to reinforce OpSys’s reputation as a renowned, world-class and respected cybersecurity and managed security services provider business across Australia,” says Daly. “While I will initially be focused on our cyber team, operations and service offerings, I’m also looking to see where we can innovate with additional functionality, expand services offerings and support accelerated growth across the Asia Pacific region.”
