Okta, Inc. has been assessed under the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). Okta’s completion of the IRAP assessment will enable Australian government agencies to access the Okta Identity Cloud.

“In our capacity as a national authority providing expert advice and services around sensitive workplace issues, Comcare is committed to ensuring the security of the information we hold,” said Peter Hinchley, Solution Architect at Comcare Australia. “Okta’s investment in secure digital transformation for Australian federal agencies demonstrates that we can rely on our partnership with Okta to secure access to our systems and resources to the highest standards.”

IRAP is an independent assessment measuring the implementation, appropriateness and effectiveness of a system’s security controls against the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) produced by the Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC). IRAP Assessments provide a mechanism for Australian Government departments and other organisations to ensure that their cloud service suppliers have adequate policy and procedures in place to mitigate risks to Australian Government information assets. The commonly recognised framework is used to assess risk, establish standardised controls, and ensure accountability for purchasing decisions.

“IRAP is the recognised standard for cloud services upholding the highest security controls in both government and private sector organisations across Australia. Completing the IRAP assessment highlights Okta’s commitment to upholding best practices for our customers, and our investment in supporting federal agencies in Australia,” said Graham Sowden, General Manager APAC at Okta.

“As government departments around the country transition to a new, dynamic way of working and bring more services online, ensuring secure access to organisational data and resources has become critical. Okta is committed to helping all levels of government securely adopt cloud services, and the IRAP assessment recognises that we can ensure safe and secure data flows and storage with our identity platform.”
