Foregenix has announced two key hires as it continues to grow its presence in Australia.

Perth-based Aaron Wooten has joined as principal consultant Incident Response & Forensics for Asia-Pacific. Wooten held a similar position in his previous role and has held the position of security architect within the Australian federal government as well as roles in law enforcement and industry regulatory bodies.

Sydney-based Bernard Wakelin has joined as senior security consultant, working with the Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) team in the Asia-Pacific region. Wakelin joins the Foregenix team from a competitor where he specialised in the delivery of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance services for the last 10 years.

These hires reflect the growth of Foregenix’s operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including the setup of the Threat Intelligence Group, which provides near real-time remote monitoring of Endpoint Security with Managed Detection and Response services.

Foregenix, which opened its first Australian office in May 2017, is headquartered in the UK, has offices in 8 countries worldwide including a new Singapore office which opened in March this year. Foregenix claims to certify almost half of all global point-to-point encryption (P2PE) systems.

Asia-Pacific Managing Director, Ray Simpson, says: ‘It is fantastic to attract cyber security professionals of the calibre of Aaron and Bernard as we grow the business in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.’
