Dynamic Standards International Partners on Cybersecurity Training

Dynamic Standards International has made a significant step towards improving global cybersecurity training based on the SMB1001 dynamic standard for small and medium businesses through an alliance with Pax8 Academy and the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), the global vendor-neutral, non-profit membership association for the IT and managed service providers ecosystem.

By joining DSI’s Global Education and Curriculum Committee, GTIA and Pax8 Academy are aligning and updating standardised cybersecurity training for small and medium businesses and IT specialists. DSI’s GECC oversees the strategy for delivering vendor-neutral, international education programs based on the SMB1001 cybersecurity standard, designed to improve cybersecurity resilience for small and medium businesses while providing tailored training for technical support specialists.

DSI’s SMB1001 is both practical and highly relevant to the small and medium businesses community, offering a flexible certification standard that enables small and medium businesses to comply with multiple legislative and cyber governance frameworks at a low cost.

This educational collaboration will develop and refine courseware, accreditations, and micro-credentials, ensuring training institutions worldwide can leverage DSI’s SMB1001 cybersecurity standard SMB1001 to upskill managed service providers and small and medium businesses at scale.

Pax8 Academy has just announced the first ever live instruction training course on Implementing SMB1001 Security Standard for all Pax8 Partners.

“Cybersecurity threats are growing in complexity, and it’s critical that businesses have access to dynamic, relevant, and practical education to stay protected,” said Pax8 Academy Manager Maria Armstrong. “Pax8 is committed to equipping managed service providers with the tools, training, and resources they need to build resilience and safeguard their clients.”

“Joining DSI’s GECC aligns with our mission to drive cybersecurity education forward,” she added. “The conversations around cybersecurity often focus on large enterprises, however, small and medium businesses account for such a large percentage of the global economy. We see it as our job to ensure managed service providers and small and medium businesses have the knowledge and support to navigate an increasingly challenging digital landscape.”

GTIA brings expertise by joining both DSI’s Steering Committee and GECC, representing the worldwide IT channel as the only vendor-neutral, non-profit membership community in the SMB1001 ecosystem. GTIA connects the global IT channel, connecting tens of thousands of industry professionals across more than 2,000 MSPs, solution providers, tech vendors, and distributors, and will leverage this insight to support the development and delivery of curricula.

“GTIA brings together a wealth of knowledge and an extensive network of IT professionals to help design fit-for-purpose educational tools, providing our members with access to vendor-neutral, industry-leading training,” said GTIA’s Wayne Selk. “Our participation in the Steering Committee and GECC allows GTIA to represent its members in providing inputs towards updating the SMB1001 standard to the latest threats. ”

“The scale and reach of GTIA and Pax8 in the global MSP space are extensive. Their expertise, influence, and commitment to raising standards across the IT industry make them invaluable collaborators,” said GECC Chairperson Professor Ryan Ko. “Combining their experience with the agility of the SMB1001 Dynamic Standards approach is exactly what’s needed to address the systemic cybersecurity challenges faced by SMBs worldwide.”
