DocuSign receives ‘Protected’ Assessment for e-Signature

DocuSign has received a ‘Protected’ assessment for DocuSign eSignature under the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP).

IRAP, and assessments conducted under the program, help government agencies determine whether a company’s system has in place sufficient controls to process, store, and transmit government data according to requirements set out in the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM).

Completion of this ‘Protected’ review means that DocuSign eSignature has been evaluated against a comprehensive list of over 800 security controls, providing government agencies the ability to assess its security and its capabilities to meet their requirements to ensure critical data is protected.

To further demonstrate its commitment to serving Australian government agencies and helping them meet their information security needs, DocuSign has established a dedicated Public Sector business development team, headed up by Nick Slater, Regional Vice President of Public Sector.

“We’re looking forward to building out our services for the public sector in Australia. As the government, agencies and related industries continue to digitise their services to meet the needs of the public, we’re excited to be able to support them not just with DocuSign eSignature, but also the broader DocuSign Agreement Cloud,” Slater said.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen an increased need for people to be able to access services remotely. This new flexibility needs to be partnered with strong security and privacy protocols. We look forward to working to create safer, better and more accessible experiences for everyone.”

Across Australia and New Zealand, many public sector organisations already use DocuSign eSignature for secure signing of agreements. The completion of this new ‘Protected’ assessment enables government agencies to confidently use eSignature with their sensitive documents and data, managing both ‘Official’-level and ‘Protected’- level data in one place.
