Cybercrime detectives are investigating a major data breach involving the New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
On March 25, 2025, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad were alerted of the breach to the NSW Online Registry website, a secure online platform that provides access to information involved in both civil and criminal cases across the NSW court system.
Cybercrime detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Pardey and are working closely with DCJ in order to contain the breach after approximately 9000 sensitive court files, including apprehended violence orders and affidavits, were downloaded.
Investigations remain ongoing to establish the full extent of the breach.
