Darktrace has appointed Wendy Komadina as Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, tasking the experienced technology executive with driving the company’s next phase of partner-led growth across the region. Based in Sydney, Komadina will focus on expanding adoption of Darktrace’s self-learning AI cybersecurity platform, particularly among organisations facing sophisticated and fast-evolving cyber threats.
Komadina brings extensive experience leading Asia Pacific and ANZ teams for major global technology companies. Her previous roles include Vice President of Partner Sales APJ at Cloudflare and senior leadership positions with Amazon Web Services, Cisco and Microsoft. Darktrace says her combination of deep technical expertise, strategic insight and strong industry relationships will be central to accelerating its regional momentum.
Her remit will include strengthening Darktrace’s partner ecosystem, which spans hyperscalers, global system integrators such as DXC, and specialist cybersecurity partners including CyberCX, Kordia and The Missing Link. The company already works with customers in highly regulated industries across ANZ, including Brisbane Airport, Osmoflo and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
Komadina said she is joining Darktrace at a pivotal time for the business and the broader cybersecurity landscape. “I’m truly honoured to join Darktrace at a moment when it’s driving a global partner-first strategy, and I’m excited to grow its footprint across Australia and New Zealand. Cyber risk has never been more present on boardroom agendas. Our role is to work closely with our customers to address their security challenges from securing their network, to their email inboxes, through to their cloud environments. It’s complex and we’re here to support customers on that journey. Cybersecurity is a team sport and we intend to work closely with our strategic partners and alliances to support our customers in tackling the ever-evolving threat landscape.”
Her appointment follows Darktrace’s renewed focus on partner-led sales through the Darktrace Defenders Partner Program, which has driven a shift in the company’s global go-to-market model. The program includes cross-business partner collaboration training, new incentives and a tiered partnership framework to support deeper ecosystem engagement.
Trevor Coetzee, Senior Vice President for MEA and APJ at Darktrace, said Komadina’s leadership will be instrumental as the company scales its ANZ operations. “Wendy understands what defines a world-class SaaS business and recognises that ANZ customers value strong relationships and trusted reputations. Her proven track record, strategic insight and extensive network will be instrumental in scaling our presence across ANZ and safeguarding businesses at every layer of their digital infrastructure, from email to network to cloud.”
The appointment continues Darktrace’s period of expansion under Thoma Bravo ownership. Since 2024, the company has acquired cloud forensics provider Cado and network visibility specialist Mira Security, while expanding its global footprint with new locations in Saudi Arabia and a deployment centre and corporate office in Dallas.
