International engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon has appointed Julieanne Saxty as Client Leader – Defence Service Delivery Division to bolster the delivery of projects as part of the Australian Government’s investment in Defence infrastructure.

Julieanne brings strong local connections and deep experience working on Defence projects to the company’s Project Delivery Services (PDS) contract as part of the Estate Works Programme. Aurecon is one of two PDS contractors providing project management support to this critical nationwide capital sustainment programme.

Julieanne is looking forward to creating innovative engineering and digital solutions that support the PDS contract.

“The Department of Defence plays a significant role in supporting our country as we adapt to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic – from assisting to deliver coordinated responses in each state to defending our sovereignty, and stimulating our economy through accelerating projects,” she said.

“I’m proud to partner with Defence in my role as a Client Leader, to bring forward the optimisation and delivery of projects within the PDS contract.”

With a background in project management, Julieanne has worked extensively on major infrastructure projects and programmes in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Aurecon Managing Director Defence and National Security, David Barnes, said Julieanne’s appointment will further build Aurecon’s market capabilities and strengthen its offering to Defence and National Security clients.

“The Australian Government continues to invest significant funding through accelerated Defence Estate facilities and infrastructure projects to support our economic prosperity,” David said.

“Julieanne brings a wealth of transferrable experience, knowledge and practical understanding to help us unlock new opportunities for Defence and National Security clients.

“Aurecon’s rise to #25 on the Australian Defence Magazine’s Top 40 Defence Contractors list, from #36 in 2018, is clear demonstration of our commitment to delivering for Defence.”

“I am excited that Julieanne is joining me in leading the growth of the Defence and National Security market through our PDS contract,” David concluded.
